Since the founding of project management as a discipline in the 1950’s, professionals and academics have strived to develop newer and better methods of tackling complex endeavors.  This pace of development has taken off in the early 2000s with the emergence and popularity of Agile approaches. Today, there is a plethora of methods and approaches, even though all of them can be traced to three dominant approaches: traditional and predictive, agile and adaptive, and structured hybrid (as opposed to unstructured hybrid which is really GID – get it done approach).

All these develop create both opportunities and challenges. Opportunities because the “project economy” is growing. Challenges because of the growing confusion and evidence based approach to which methodology is better, more utilized, and in which industry, profession, or even the size of company.

This study attempts to examine the “landscape” of project management methodologies. By its very nature, this is exploratory and depending on the findings, we will pursue more in-depth study.  Please participate in this landmark study, and you will receive the final report for free.  The study is designed to take about 10-15 minutes and you can complete it anonymously.
